Carolyn Martin Winn passed away on July 7, 2014, at her residence in Fort Worth in complete assurance of her heavenly home.
A memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life  will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Ft. Worth at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will precede the memorial service at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview at 10:00 a.m. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Greenwood.

Carolyn was born in Pittsburg on April 10, 1939, to Fay Louis and Ruby Lee Turnage Martin. Carolyn graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1957 and enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin where she met her future husband, Herschel Winn. A member of Alpha Delta Pi, she graduated from UT with a Bachelor of  Journalism degree and married Herschel 10 days later on June 24, 1961.
Their two girls, Celia  and Macey, were born inApril of 1962 and August of 1963, respectively. Carolyn was a smart, articulate, and creative woman,  whose greatest desire was to be a homemaker and mother. She created a home full of love, laughter, security, grace, beauty, and wonderful home cooked meals. Carolyn gave herself 100% to supporting her husband,  children, and later, grandchildren in all that they pursued. She was extremely proud of Herschel and delighted in traveling with him on business trips, entertaining in their home and being involved in community events. She brought her talents to many groups, both in Burleson and Fort Worth, including The Eumathian Club(President), Burleson Library Board (President), First United Methodist Church of Burleson, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth, Harris Hospital, Jewel Charity Ball, Kimball Art Museum (docent) and First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
