Camp County commissioners voted to enter into a new phone system agreement for jail inmates With Encartele Phone Service. There is no cost to the county with the new company; and in fact, they have the potential to earn revenue with the new company.

Sheriff Alan McCandless made the presentation to the commissioners after being granted more time to go over the contract with the county auditor.

“The other company will pull equipment by the 30th of the month. We’ve been with this company for 18 years. It appears they want to get away from smaller jails,” Sheriff McCandless said.

Commissioners voted unanimously for the Sheriff to proceed with the contract to Encartele.

Another item on the agenda that was time sensitive was discussion and action on an Envoirnmental Protection Agency (EPA) resolution.
