High School Top 10 percent announced

Hannah Heyduck is the valedictorian of the Pittsburg High School Class of 2014. Grant Gooding is the salutatorian.
Hannah will graduate from PHS with a 4.6359 grade point average. Hannah was selected for the All-Region Band for two years as well as State Solo and Ensemble. She participated in Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) and went to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) for two years as a part of DECA. Hannah represented PHS and went to State for Student Council for three years and received a “sweepstakes” for her efforts. She was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and served as secretary for her class. She was also president of the Interact Club and participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She participated in yearbook and was an “A” honor roll student throughout high school. Hannah has received The University of Texas Presidential Achievement Scholarship, Top Ten Scholarship, and the Pioneer Club Scholarship, the NHS Scholarship, and the Rotary Scholarship. She will be attending The University of announcedTexas at Austin in the fall to major in Radio-Television-Film studies. Hannah is the daughter of Richard and Christi Heyduck. Her grandparents are Jerry and Katie Anderson of Lufkin and the late Bill and Mary Heyduck of Arlington.
Grant Gooding, the salutatorian, will graduate from PHS with a 4.5609 grade point average. Grant is an Eagle Scout and was the president of National Honor Society. He was also treasurer of Student Council, vice-president of the Interact Club and was an “A” honor roll student throughout high school. Grant participated in State Solo and Ensemble for three years and led the Students Making an Impact on our Living Environment (SMILE) Committee to the State conference. Grant participated in choir, varsity tennis, and DECA Club. He has applied for several scholarships, but they have not been announced as of yet. Grant will attend The University of Texas at Austin in the fall and study International Relations and Global Studies with a minor in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies.He is the son of Brian “B” Gooding and Elizabeth “Betsy” Gooding. His grandparents are Ralph and Sarah McGuffey of Dallas and the late Ray and Patricia Gooding.
