Two PHS students are winners of art contest

Approximately six months ago Gary and Debby Faulkner approached Seth Hudson, head of the PHS Art Department, to start a contest for students who could illustrate the Pittsburg Police Department (PPD) building and Summer Pylant and Evelyn Garcia were chosen as the winners. On May 28 Evelyn and Summer were awarded a gift card from the Faulkner’s and had their artwork displayed for all to see at the PPD. The Faulkner’s really wanted to promote the art department in addition to showcasing outstanding local talent. Police Chief Richard Penn said, “These drawings will help you remember where you came from; for this to be done is just amazing, and it’s an honor for us to display these sketches.”
