Parker, Webster win election

The Pittsburg Independent School District school board and Northeast Texas Community College election results have been tabulated and released. PISD had a school board election for seats one and two on Dr. Dennis Hopkins the board. Jack Arnwine will keep place one on the board as he was unopposed for the seat; he garnered 582 total votes. Incumbent Ricky Parker also kept place two on the board as he defeated his opponent, Thomas G. Hill. Mr. Parker received 184 votes through early voting and 291 votes on election day for a total of 475. Mr. Hill received 107 votes through early voting and 139 votes on election day for a total of 246.
 
NTCC also held a board of trustees election, every seat up for an election cycle except for place one was unopposed. Incumbent Jerry Webster faced Titus County resident Lynda Tyler for place one on the board. Mr. Webster won the election and held onto his seat by garnering 833 votes (79 percent) to Mrs. Tyler’s 227 votes (21 percent). Chuck Johns, John Bryan, Bill Ratliff, and Robin Sharp all kept their respective seats on the board as they were unopposed.
