Pittsburg High School advances in one-act play

Pittsburg High School will compete in the Regional one-act play in Commerce on Thursday, May 1.  The cast and crew competed and advanced again at the Region II Area 13-AAA University Interscholastic League (UIL) One-Act Play Contest on Wednesday, April 9, at Longview High School.  They again performed the “Cripple of Inishmaan” directed by Belinda Matlock, PHS theatre teacher.  Justin Mejia and Johann Strottman were awarded All-Star Cast Honors.  Hailey Marshall and Aaron Franks both won All-Star Cast honorable mention.  Rebecca Simmons received a tech award for sound.  Ms. Matlock said, “This has been an incredible journey with a group of dedicated and talented students.  I love each and every one of them.  This is the reason I continue to teach.”
