Commissioners give lot 373 to Thunderbird Point VFD

There was a special meeting of the Commissioners Court on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. in the Camp County Courtroom. The court met with a few items on the agenda ranging from contracts with Auctioneer Express to considering land for the Thunderbird Point Volunteer Fire Department.
The court had to consider approval of listing surplus equipment for sale with Auctioneer Express online auction. There were two items that needed to be considered before approving this action, one was the contract with Auctioneer Express and two was the items that would be able to be purchased.
There are two different contracts that the courts had to decide from, one contract would only be valid for one auction and once it had taken place items could not be sold after that without going through the court. Another would be a physical year contract to where items could be sold at one point in time and a few months later, more items could be sold again without having to set up another contract and auction.
Judge Thomas Cravey said that this company had been in business for a long time and worked a lot with other counties. He went on to say that it was easier to do business with them and the equipment would be able to reach out to a broader audience as opposed to trying and selling locally.
The court carried the motion to go through the process of setting up the year contract with Auctioneer Express.
