Downtown blaze

Two Pittsburg businesses burned Sunday morning as fire engulfed a portion of downtown. Computer Emporium and Nora’s Salon were both destroyed by the blaze that occupied fire fighters for hours. The two historic buildings lost were the former homes of Franklin’s Food Store and B&S Hardware.
According to Fire Chief Carl Cravey, firefighters arrived on the scene at around 4 a.m. and had the fire contained around 8 a.m. Personnel stayed on scene to monitor the situation until 4 p.m. Chief Cravey said the fire started in the back room of the computer store but the exact cause is yet to be determined.
