The Commissioners Court held their regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m. in the County Courtroom of the Camp County Courthouse.
The court approved many requests including the approval of prior Commissioners Court minutes, reports of elected officials and the request from Camp County Habitat for Humanity for a waiver of penalty and interest fees due on 2012 taxes on two Habitat mortgaged properties.
The court also approved the transfer of budgeted funds to Broach Park operating funds. County Judge Thomas Cravey said this was something the court does every year. The money was put in the budget usually for employment uses.
The motion carried unanimously and the transfer of budgeted funds to Broach Park operating funds would take place.
The court also discussed and considered sponsoring Bi-County Water Supply Corporation for a 2015-2016 Texas Community Development Fund grant application for water improvements. A presentation was presented to the court on what projects would be done through the grant.
The project considered would be down in Holly Springs where new fire hydrants would be placed. There would be no cost to the County for the project just a sponsorship was required in order for the State to approve the grant.
The motion was carried and the court approved the sponsorship.
Throughout the meeting the court also accepted into record the Racial Profile Reports from the Sheriff and Constable of Camp County and the approval of a contract with Remote Data Backups for off site server backup.
Because the data the court holds is so important, this server backup was recommended by EDoc’s. The backup server would process through every night at a certain time. So in case of an emergency at most the lost information would be one day’s worth of material.
The contract would total out to be $160 monthly and the contract is only a 30 day month to month contract so if a more suitable plan is found in order to store data the court can switch just like that.
“It is essential to back up and protect our information,” Judge Cravey said.
The court approved the motion to go through with backup server for the court’s data information.
