FAFSA offers aid to college students

Time for filling out and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now. January is when students and their families should begin filling out the FAFSA. The FAFSA may be submitted to the Department of Education (ED) anytime after Jan.
1. Families should begin collecting the information they will needto complete the form. Records you will need include:
2013 federal tax forms,
W-2 forms,
investment records,
bank statements, and
small business records.
By completing and submitting a FAFSA, you supply the information that financial aid offices and programs use to determine your need for financial aid.
Each school will offer you a financial aid package based on your level of need to help pay for costs associated with attending school.
