Library’s new computer technology offers faster and easier ways of surfing
Come in out of the cold and take advantage of the new technology the Pittsburg Camp County Public Library offers you. The new public access computers, that the library received through a generous grant from the Tocker Foundation, are installed and working great. We have chosen the Linux based Userful system with authentication, which means that we will issue Internet Use Cards so you can login with your own number. This will automate the process much better. And, you can still use Microsoft Office products through this new system by creating an online account at outlook.com. Thank you to the Tocker Foundation and Userful Computer Solutions for hooking us up!
Userful is a Green Solution. It reduces CO2 emissions and electronic waste, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 15 tons per year and reduces electronic waste by up to 80%. Reducing the number of computers in use has additional earth-friendly benefits. Electronic waste is an increasing problem globally due to the quick obsolescence of electronics.
