Thanksgiving services unite churches

Emmanuel Baptist Church hosted the Thanksgiving Services Nov. 24 at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Churches all over the city of Pittsburg were invited to gather in worship. Pittsburg’s First Baptist Church Youth Minister, Kassidy Harris lead the service with a message of being a follower of Jesus and not just fans. During the worship service and sermon, Pittsburg High School Art Teacher Seth Hudson painted a portrait that was silently auctioned off after the services. Along with the portrait, Mr. Husdon also had two smaller size portraits identical to the larger one. Yvonne Young and Clark Jesmore were the winners of the smaller paintings, and Jessica Brummell bid the highest for the largest painting. Through the offering taken and the silent auction, $1450 was raised which helps families in need within the year.
