Easter egg hunt will be held downtown for the community

Sharon Matthews of Sassy Girls and Holly McGraw of Pittsburg Floral and Weddings have created and organized a downtown Easter egg hunt for Pittsburg.
The event will be March 28 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at select businesses downtown.
“The businesses will either set up a basket of eggs at the door for the children, or they can hide the eggs throughout their business for the children to find. The eggs can have various prizes inside from candy to coupons for that store,” said Mrs. McGraw.
Local churches are also welcome to set up downtown and distribute eggs.
Any community member is free to participate. There is no entrance fee or sign up required; all you have to do is show up.
“The main reasoning behind organizing the event is the children,” said Mrs. McGraw. “We want the children to be more involved in the community.”
The mastermind duo plans to host the event annually.
“We hope that the participation will grow throughout the years and eventually get as big as downtown Halloween,” said Mrs. McGraw.
Several more Easter egg hunts are planned throughout town.
The Farmstead Museum’s egg hunt and Easter Bunny photo-op for children 5 and under will be March 30. The hunt is scheduled for 9 a.m.
Abundant Life Christian Center will host an Easter egg hunt and praise and worship service on March 30 at the city park from noon until 2 p.m. They will also serve hot dogs and chips.
Children are also invited to the First Pentecostal Church of Pittsburg Full Gospel on March 30, at 1 p.m., for an Easter Egg hunt. All children are invited to attend.
