Filing for school, city positions continues

Dr. Dan Kincaid has filed to run for Place 4 on the Pittsburg Independent School District board of trustees. This is an unexpired term that expires in 2015. Dr. Kincaid is now serving in Place 7, filling the remainder of the late Sheryl Miller’s term which expires this year. Carmen Mitchell has filed for that place on the board. Jerral Walker, in Place 6, has signed up to run for another term.
Mayor Shawn Kennington and council member Fred Cook, Place 4, are up for re-election in the city. Both incumbents have filed to run for another term.
Filing for city council and school board continues until March 1. To sign up for a city position, stop by City Hall, 200 Rusk St. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Filing for school board is conducted at the Central Administration Office, 402 Broach St. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. On March 1, the office will be open until 5 p.m.
