Grundish named new hospice board chairman

Edd Hess, the executive director of Cypress Basin Hospice, announced that David Grundish of Pittsburg has been elected as chairman of the board of directors for 2013.
Mr. Grundish has been a member of the board since 2005 and is an agent with Century 21 Premier Group in Pittsburg. He is also involved with the family business, Scrubbies Wash, USA.
“I am proud to serve such an excellent organization that meets the needs of families throughout northeast Texas,” said Mr. Grundish. “Cypress Basin Hospice means a lot to me and to the other members of the board. The agency’s employees provide such compassionate care, it makes us all proud.”
Mr. Grundish has been in the real estate business for last 16 years and prior to that, worked in the computer field from operations to management.
His wife, Linda, is manager of Parker Furniture and Appliances in Pittsburg. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Texas A&M Commerce. Mr. Grundish grew up in Tulsa and has been living in Texas since 1966.
“David will continue to provide the progressive leadership that was given by last year’s chairman, Virgil Jones,” Mr. Hess said.
“Our accomplishments this last year were significant, and will serve as a foundation for continued growth this year.”
Cypress Basin Hospice is a non-profit, community-based agency serving 11 counties throughout Northeast Texas.
For over 25 years, the agency has provided care for patients and their families who are undergoing the effects of life-limiting illness. Care is given in the patient’s home, nursing facility, assisted living, or hospital.
Cypress Basin Hospice offers a wide range of grief support programs to families and individuals, whether or not they are Cypress Basin Hospice clients.
Included in these programs is Camp Brave Heart, its bereavement camp for children.
